DESE Assistant Commissioner, Paul Katnik, Joins MVR-III on Curriculum Learning Walks
Meramec Valley R-III School District was proud to have DESE Assistant Commissioner, Paul Katnik, join Dr. Hillhouse, Superintendent, Dr. Parks, Assistant Superintendent, and the MVR-III Curriculum Leadership Team on Curriculum Learning Walks throughout the district on Monday, September 19, 2016. The Curriculum Learning walks took place at Pacific High School, Riverbend School, Meramec Valley Middle School, and Zitzman Elementary.
At Zitzman Elementary, they observed Assessment Capable Learning, flexible seating, and the theory of learning being used in their school. Spotlight classrooms included kindergarten, first grade, second grade, the Physical Education classroom, along with all of the student work on display in the hallways.

On Thursday, August 18 th , the Meramec Valley R-III School District rolled out 750 Chromebooks for students in grades 6 – 8 as the first phase of our 1:1 Initiative. The MVR-III Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) has long included the target of exploring the implementation of a 1:1 Initiative for the 2016-2017 school year.
